E3 2006 ALMOST UPON US
This is it folks, the last weekend before E3 begins. In just a few days, we’ll all be drooling over the games we’ll be playing later this year and talking about the Playstation 3 and Wii announcements. Get some rest, fire up the grill and prepare yourself, because come monday, it’s all about information overload. Stay tuned!
XBOX 360 DEMO OF TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED COMING THIS MONDAY
As I’m sure you’re aware by now, Microsoft is planning on trying to bring the E3 experience home by offering many of the floor demos and videos to Xbox 360 owners via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Today, Atari announced that they will have a playable demo of Test Drive Unlimited up in the marketplace from May 8th through the 14th. While they weren’t exactly clear as to what will happen with the demo after the 14th, it’s probably a safe bet to make sure you get it next week if you want to give it a spin. The demo will consist of a 40 mile open road course in Oahu, Hawaii and will allow the player to select 1 of 3 cars for their driving pleasure.
MORE MAPS COMING TO THE OUTFIT
Gamespot reports that THQ has announced that they will have another map pack for The Outfit available later this month. The download, available via the Xbox Live Marketplace, will contain 3 new multiplayer maps and sell for 500 points ot less ($6.25). While I personally didn’t like The Outfit at all, it is good to see developers taking advantage of the marketplace concept. I just wonder what happened to the concept of the micro-transaction – $6.25 for 3 maps isn’t really my idea of a “bargain”
