FREE XBOX 360 DEMO DISC
Walmart and the TV show “The Apprentice” are offering a free Xbox 360 disc that contains movie trailers, music videos, clips from “The Apprentice” and playable demos of Kameo: Elements of Power and Project Gotham Racing 3. Sure you can get the demos in the Xbox Live Marketplace for free, but free swag is always a good thing, and since they’re on a disc, they won’t take up any precious hard drive space. Click here to head on over to the promos page at Walmart.com and sign up for the disc.
i know you can answer my question do the x box 360 demo discs have updates for my 360 to be backwards compatible i do not have dsl and this would be faster than trying to down load update on dial up? can you please help thanks i don’t want to waste my money if they don’t thanks for taking time to answer my question thanks!! bob in pa
Unfortunately not – as far as I know, without access to Xbox Live, there are only two ways to obtain the necessary files for backwards compatibility.
1.) Download the update via Xbox.com, burn it to disc and install it on your 360.
2.) Order a backward compatibility disc direct from Microsoft. (They may or may not still be doing this – I seem to remember attempting to get a disc from them about 2 years ago from the provided link and finding that the page no longer works.)
More info and the needed links can be found here

Finally if you do know someone nearby who has a fast connection, you could have them download the file (It’s only 12.6mb, so it’s not a huge inconvenience to them) and burn it to disc for you.
Hope this helped.
